In a new wave of attacks, Trump has set his sights on trans people, an already vulnerable class of people, to strip away legal protections and change regulations regarding sex and gender identifications on legal documents. For trans people, such bigoted attacks on how we choose to represent ourselves is nothing new. But what does being transgender in a capitalist society mean? Why are transgender people discriminated against? How are they discriminated against? And what does transgender people’s liberation mean for non-transgender, or cisgender, people?
