Over the last 10 years, there has been an increased attack on women's rights ranging from anti-abortion legislation to limiting access to birth control to cutting social services. This past week, right-wing Republicans and Christian fundamentalists in Congress have been pushing a budget reconciliation bill that will repeal the Affordable Care Act, which has some progressive measures, and defund Planned Parenthood. This a direct assault on women's reproductive and social rights.
We know we need to build a multi-national women's movement that's anti-racist and tackles the root cause of our oppression, capitalism. In order to better understand how to build this movement, we will study the movements of the past and dispel ideas that obstruct such organizing and lead to division among our ranks. Join us as we address the question of how fighting racism as a key struggle within the women's movement will strengthen the movement overall.
