A New Generation Revisits the Black Radical Tradition

Earlier this year in Philadelphia, a conference titled "Reclaiming our Future: The Black Radical Tradition in our Time" took place bringing together leading Black radical intellectuals, activists, artists, pastors, and thinkers from from the 1960s, 1970s, to the present day Black Lives Matter movement. The most exciting element of the conference was raising socialism as the clear alternative to the capitalist system. 

Come hear about the often suppressed history of Black radical leadership in the freedom struggle, and how necessary it is to revive this legacy today in the face of continuing police brutality, mass incarceration, job discrimination and environmental racism.

As the power structure continues to show its true colors, it has become evident that Black liberation cannot be won under capitalism. Join us for a discussion of the Philadelphia conference and its relevance to the struggle in 2016.


Flint: 100,000 people poisoned — where are the arrests?

Every single child under the age of six in Flint, Michigan — a majority Black city — has lead poisoning and protests are growing over the state and federal government's cover-up of the ongoing water contamination crisis. 

Protesters are demanding the arrest of Gov. Rick Snyder, whose officials connected the city's water to the long-polluted Flint River to save money and then denied the crisis for months.
