On Jan. 1, 1959, revolutionary forces led by Fidel Castro overthrew the brutal U.S.-backed Batista dictatorship in Cuba.
Since then, socialist Cuba, a small island, has played an outsized role in world politics because of its values, principles and its internationalism. Cuba has remained a beacon for people fighting injustice everywhere, as a society that prioritized the needs and wellbeing of people and the planet over profit.
Join the Party for Socialism and Liberation - San Antonio as we learn about the remarkable gains made by socialist Cuba and how the struggle against capitalism and imperialism persists today. No prior reading is required, all reading material will be provided.
