CT Film Showing: A Good Day to Die - Dennis Banks & AIM

November 30, 2017 at 6:00pm - 9pm

Liberation fighters across the world lost a great warrior on October 29 when Native activist, organizer and co-founder of the American Indian Movement (AIM) Dennis Banks died.

Banks was a humanitarian who embraced every struggle, opposing South African apartheid, defending Cuba’s revolution, demanding Leonard Peltier’s freedom, working to end the drug crisis, diabetes and domestic violence. He spent many days and nights with the water protectors at Standing Rock.

Join us to remember Banks’ life and legacy with this film and a discussion on the continuing struggle for Native self-determination.

FREE event. Light refreshments served. Free parking behind 608 Whitney and on Whitney Avenue. J bus to Whitney & Canner.
