Hillary Clinton: Imperialist, Not a Feminist
Hillary Clinton seeks the support of progressive young women by calling herself a feminist. Her ally Madeline Albright even said there's a "special place in hell" for women that do not support her campaign. Clinton and Albright, however, both share responsibility for criminal wars and mass destruction in Libya, Iraq, Yugoslavia, and elsewhere. The women of those countries, where so many families have been destroyed, would question Hillary's so-called "feminism."
Join us in a discussion of Clinton's real record at home and abroad. From orchestrating the senseless murder in Libya to gutting welfare and attacking poor women in the United States, Hillary calling herself a feminist is an insult to the legacy of the women's movement in the U.S. As we approach International Women's Day, it is critically important for progressive and revolutionary women to expose Clinton's opportunist rhetoric and revive the real legacy of women's liberation!
Special Guest Presentation - El Barrio Activist Josmar Trujillo
Josmar Trujillo is a writer and activist based in Spanish Harlem. He is the founder of New Yorkers Against Bratton as well as one of the leaders of the Coalition to End Broken Windows. The Coalition to End Broken Windows fights for NYC to invest in communities and in solutions, not in the police. Broken Windows policing, started by Police Commissioner Bill Bratton, criminalizes minor infractions and offenses with the goal of preventing more serious crimes in the future. The reality is that this policy only results in more instances of police violence in poor and oppressed communities. Come listen to this special presentation!
