Class Enemies in NYC: Trump, Cruz, Clinton and Killer Cops

New York City is mobilizing on Thursday, April 14th against Donald Trump's gala and to demand the maximum sentencing for killer cop Peter Liang. The low-wage worker movement, immigrant and Muslim organizations and the police brutality movement will be uniting in the streets, and in the thousands . Brazil to Honduras: Struggle Intensifies Across Latin America

On March 3rd, Honduran indigenous Lenca leader, Berta Caceres, was assassinated by the Honduran government. In Brazil, a right-wing led attack is seeking to oust democratically elected president Dilma Rouseff. The recently released Panama Papers revealed the corruption of capitalist moguls and heads of state around the world, including Latin American right-wing leaders. At the same time, Obama visits Cuba and Argentina. 

Progressive and popular movements are facing a right-wing counter-attack as part of U.S. imperialism's drive to reassert its hegemony in Latin America. Our Children are Dying

Last week, Juwan "Chico" Taverez was tragically murdered in a crossfire in the Jefferson houses in East Harlem — just blocks from the Justice Center en El Barrio. Another 17-year old, Ta'Jae Warner, was sadly killed just days later in Coney Island. How do revolutionaries understand community violence and the larger violence of capitalist society? What will it take for oppressed people to overcome this violence? 

Local politicians, from Chicago to New York, have jumped on these incidents to increase the numbers and funding for police. Rather than solving the issue, this has added to the harassment and intimidation of our young people.
