Socialist Sleigh: Help Fund Holiday Essentials in Our Neighborhoods!

This holiday season, PSL Atlanta's Socialist Sleigh will be delivering gift baskets in neighborhoods in Atlanta and East Point! On Saturday, December 18, a car caravan will set out from the Atlanta Liberation Center in the West End at 3 PM to distribute the baskets—a small act of solidarity.

As the holidays approach, many working-class people are struggling just to get by, two years into the pandemic. The bipartisan political leadership at all levels continues to fail to meet people’s most fundamental needs. Many are facing unemployment, poverty wages, eviction, and rising rents. The capitalist system upholds the right of billionaires to make greater profits by the year while tens of millions of people do not have the right to a dignified life.

Over the past year, the Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL) has organized with residents in the very neighborhoods that the Socialist Sleigh will be riding through. We united with people on the demands to stop federal unemployment benefits cuts and utility shutoffs. We are organizing with tenants to build a housing justice movement against evictions, slumlords, and gentrification.

The PSL is organizing the Socialist Sleigh to share the vision of a world where people’s basic needs are prioritized year-round – the vision of a socialist society – where political and economic power is in the hands of the working class and the oppressed. Food, shelter, healthcare, and education should be guaranteed human rights. While people live in poverty in the richest country in the world, the U.S. Congress passed a $768 billion budget earlier this month to fund war abroad.

No matter the time of year, the PSL is actively building a movement against war, racism, and poverty.

We are asking you to contribute generously to the Socialist Sleigh by donating.
